Questions before your first appointment
What States do you see patients in?
We currently see patients who are living in, and residents of Iowa. Unfortunately we are not able to see patients living or staying in other states, though we are expanding and hope to be in all states very soon!
How long is the initial appointment and what will we discuss?
Your initial appointment will be 50 minutes and will include a discussion of your complete medical and psychiatric history and a focus on your current symptoms. You and your medical provider will then create a treatment plan and schedule a follow-up appointment. After the appointment, your nurse will review the treatment plan with your doctor and send the medication to your local pharmacy that day.
Who will my appointment be with?
Patient appointments and communication are with highly skilled and experienced psychiatric nurse practitioners, supported by a medical doctor and psychiatrist available to review medication treatment plans. If there are any changes, your nurse will get in touch with you to discuss.
Is my information confidential?
Yes, of course. Your information will be transmitted on encrypted, HIPAA compliant softwares.
How should I prepare for my initial evaluation?
It’s helpful to write down any symptoms you’re experiencing, along with any questions or concerns you have. Bring a list of current medications and relevant medical history to discuss during your session.
What information do I need to provide when scheduling my first appointment?
We will need your basic contact information, insurance details (if applicable), and a brief overview of the reason for your visit.
How do I schedule an appointment with Bridges Psychiatry Services?
You can schedule an appointment by calling our office during business hours or by filling out the appointment request form on our website.

How soon can I expect to see improvements in my symptoms following my psychiatric appointment?
The timeline for seeing improvements in symptoms can vary depending on individual factors such as the nature of your condition, treatment plan, and adherence to recommendations. Your psychiatrist will discuss realistic expectations during your appointment and may provide guidance on what to expect in terms of symptom improvement.
